NTE Energy’s Simple Cycle to Combined Cycle Hybridization Projects allows Utilities to convert existing simple cycle combustion turbine peaking units into a combined cycle while also adding renewable energy to their generation portfolio. This project requires the addition of heat recovery steam generators, steam turbine, and hybrid biomass boiler. The heat recovery steam generators will use the waste heat from the combustion turbine to generate steam which will be combined with steam generated in a biomass boiler, to power the steam turbine, creating a hybrid cycle and generating renewable energy. See the rendering below for a visual representation of a Simple Cycle to Combined Cycle Hybridization Project.
