NTE Energy’s Retrofit Projects simply consist of the addition of a hybrid biomass boiler to an existing power plant. This hybrid biomass cycle is sized based on the needed steam production at the host facility and the quantity of locally available clean waste wood. The biomass boiler is tied into existing steam piping, providing additional steam to power the existing steam turbine and generate renewable energy. This allows for a large savings in capital costs for the Utility due to the ability to utilize existing major equipment to generate renewable power.
