Benefits of Hybrid Renewable Energy Projects

NTE Energy’s hybrid renewable energy projects provide significant economic and environmental benefits:

On average, each of our Greenfield projects will generate approximately 550 MW of clean, hybrid renewable power – enough to provide hybrid renewable power to more than 550,000 residential customers.

Our projects’ combination of renewable thermal technologies with combined cycle natural gas power plants will result in the generation of electricity in a carbon neutral manner, reducing the impact of greenhouse gases on global warming.

Our projects will utilize some of the world’s most advanced pollution control technology to ensure minimal impacts on our nation’s air and water resources.

The development and construction of each of our projects will cost more than $500 million, yielding significant economic benefits to the state and local economies.

Construction of each of our projects will employ more than 600 highly skilled construction tradespersons.  During operations, the facility will employ a significant number of skilled individuals in a variety of roles.

Our projects will become a significant taxpayer at both the state and local level, thereby assisting with resolution of some of the significant budgetary shortfalls facing state and local governments today.

Our projects’ hybrid renewable energy is generated at a substantially lower cost than other forms of stand-alone renewable energy generation technology.  These costs savings will be passed along to utility customers through lower energy prices and reduced costs for renewable energy credits generated by the projects.

Our projects’ use of renewable technologies and domestic natural gas energy resources reduces the nation’s dependence on foreign sources of energy.
