What is Hybrid Renewable Energy?

Hybrid renewable energy is produced through the combination of energy generated by clean, natural gas fired generation technology with energy produced through the use of one or more renewable energy resources. The result is reliably generated electricity produced in a clean, sustainable and cost effective manner.

At NTE Energy, our focus is on developing large scale hybrid renewable energy resources. These facilities combine proven technologies such as clean, natural gas combined cycle generation technology with biomass fired boiler technology. Using NTE Energy’s proprietary processes, we combine steam from these different resources in a manner which significantly increases overall generator efficiency, lowers costs for our customers and reduces emissions when compared with stand alone renewable and fossil fired generation sources.

If applicable to a specific project, NTE Energy can also utilize landfill gas, solar thermal technology or solar photovoltaic cells in addition to the hybrid biomass boiler.

Through the combination of these stable and proven electric generation technologies, NTE Energy’s hybrid renewable energy projects will be able to reliably generate clean and sustainable electricity at cost effective rates for our customers.
